Career Accomplishments: Dr. Brady is a master gastrointestinal diagnostician and endoscopist. He has been a member of the UTHSC faculty since 1986, following a distinguished military career during which he served as Chief of Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. As Gastroenterology Program Director and Director of the Endoscopy Center at University Hospital over the past 20 years, he has directed the training of many highly skilled gastroenterologists. Dr. Brady is an expert in all diagnostic and therapeutic applications of upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, including advanced techniques such as control of bleeding , feeding tube placement, and endoluminal stent placement. He also possesses special expertise in advanced procedures such as esophageal manometry (for the evaluation of motor function), esophageal pH testing (for the evaluation of gastroesophageal reflux disease/GERD), and wireless capsule endoscopy.
