Dr. Gross is recognized as one of the most accomplished practitioners in South Texas of ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), a specialized form of endoscopy of the bile ducts and pancreas. Dr. Gross has particular expertise in the management of bile duct stones, pancreatic disease, and biliary complications associated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy and liver transplantation. He has performed almost 4000 ERCP procedures over the past 15 years, with a technical success rate of over 96%, well over the national standard for expert practice (ASGE/ACG Quality Standards, 2006), bringing the medical school's ERCP program to its current high level of excellence.
